Wednesday December 11, 2024 is the last Music Open Mic of the year and its two year anniversary!
Will you join us? The sign up sheet goes out at 7pm. The mic goes from 7:30-10pm. It’s first come, first serve. The order is picked at random. Everyone gets 2 songs (10mins max). There’s a Steinway piano, cajon drum, bass and guitar amp you can use. If there’s time at the end, I always encourage an open jam. The space is All Ages, and there is no cover charge. All are welcome.
I can’t believe I’ve been hosting this monthly open mic at The Madison Community Arts Center for TWO YEARS now. I’m so happy it continues to grow and that it’s always a safe and welcoming place for artists to share their work, express themselves, and meet other musicians. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Before this mic, (from 2015-March 2020), I hosted a weekly open mic at Scarlet Pub in New Brunswick, NJ. That one got to be so coveted, that there was a line at the door to sign up. It was such a special mic to me and to many. I met so many talented people there, and I’m just as lucky to continue providing a platform for more talent to perform and be heard in this new multifaceted space. New Jersey has the best artists, am I right?
Stay tuned for an announcement coming about hosting another open mic and some acoustic shows in a new and cozy space that’s opening soon. Key word there is another, this mic isn’t going anywhere!

You coming to the last Come Original Showcase of 2024 on December 21?
We’re going out with a BANG. There will be FOUR bands and FOUR pop up shops to cap off 2024! Do yourself a favor and get your last minute holiday gifts from these fabulous local artists and makers, and get the added bonus of not contributing to corporate greed, all while seeing live music from some local cats who are pretty amazing! It’s a win/win really. Tickets are only $10 in advance and $15 at the door. A small price to pay to support independent artists!
